From tech and manufacturing to food, education and healthcare -- businesses and industries across Northeast Wisconsin are always looking to attract new talent. With unemployment low in the region, filling open positions can be a challenge.

The Mowrey Elementary School library will get a $40,000 makeover as a winner in furniture manufacturer KI’s second annual school giveaway competition.

Ms. Wilkirson recently did some designing of her own. Last fall, she learned about a national contest — hosted by the furniture company KI. It selects four educators from four regions across the U.S. to help them design their dream classroom.

Wednesday is the final day to vote in the Learning Space Design Competition with a grand prize valued at $40,000.

Traditional office spaces are no longer a necessity for many businesses — the acceleration of remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic proved that — so the existence of these spaces must be driven by purpose and serve true needs, for both businesses and employees.

Library and media specialist Beau Williams of Snow Hill Middle School has been selected as one of 12 finalists in a national classroom furniture giveaway from furniture maker KI. 

A Lexington elementary school teacher has officially won a classroom makeover.

Amy Sery is one of the teachers there is in the final round of a national competition that will pay four teachers $40,000 for new classroom furniture. Ms. Sery says if selected, her students will work in more accessible classrooms.

Snow Hill Middle School may soon be home to the library of its dreams thanks to one local librarian.

Big changes could be coming to one teacher’s classroom at Northern Elementary School in Lexington.

Dr. Sery is the Visual & Media Arts teacher at Briarlake Elementary in DeKalb County. Many of her students have very diverse learning needs. She now has a chance to help them like never before.

At Westwood High School in Palestine, Tyler Hebert, says she has a clear vision for what she would do with the money. Most importantly, she says she wants her space to be a comfortable and collaborative environment for her students.

Ms. Cortney Schneider is a 3rd grade teacher at Alpha Hart Lewis Elementary School has been selected as a finalist in a classroom furniture giveaway.

Tyler Hebert, a career and technical education teacher at Westwood High School, is competing to win $40,000 worth of furniture.
